Hike in, set up camp, start exploring!

Our Base Camp Series offers the chance to experience camp life and to explore the more remote parts of the mountain ranges around Scotland.

Having a base camp means that you can spend several days in a remote area, climbing peaks that would otherwise be out of reach on a day-trip. And being able to store kit at the camp means that you can travel light, only carrying what you need for that day's exploration.
It also means you've got somewhere familiar to come back to each day, somewhere to cook and to share a bag-o-wine and a dram of whisky with your camp mates as you talk about the adventures you've had that day.

Typically, a Base Camp Series trip will last seven days: three days and two nights at the base camp and a day either side for easy day hikes from civilisation (the days either side of the camp also allow for flexibility and contingency should the weather force a change of plan).

This really is an amazing way to experience parts of the mountains that few people get to explore.
Choose a trip from our diary and join a group or, if you'd like a bespoke trip organised especially for you and your friends on dates that suit you, just get in touch and we'll take care of it!

The cost of a Base Camp Series trip includes:
-
Transfers to and from train station/airport.
-
All transport throughout trip (e.g. from accommodation to start of hike).
-
Accommodation at local hostels/hotels on the days either side of the base camp.
-
Use of all camping kit (e.g. expedition tents, sleeping bag & roll mat, stove, water filtration).
-
Use of technical equipment if required (e.g. ice axe, crampons, helmet, pulks on winter trips).
-
Breakfast, lunches and dinners whilst in the mountains (including hot drinks).
-
Guided hiking and camp instruction by experienced and qualified Mountain Leaders.

All you need to do is pack your personal kit and make your way up from London to Scotland (for advice on the best/cheapest way to do this, please just get in touch).
