ITINERARY

Note: The following itinerary may be altered based on weather conditions and, in some cases, the days may be switched, but we will always pick the best weather day for the Ben Nevis ascent.

Friday: (if Caledonian Sleeper Train option is taken)

Meeting outside London Euston train station at 8pm, you will board the Caledonian Sleeper train for an overnight journey to Fort William (bed in a single-sex, twin room with one of your fellow adventurers)

 

Saturday: Arrival and Explore Fort William (or learn winter skills for the winter trips)

  • Arrival/Meet in Fort William at 10am: Meet your guide in Fort William at 10am for a trip briefing on the day’s climb, including safety instructions and what to expect.

  • Exploration: After a briefing for the days activities, you will head out on a hike in the local area. Where you hike will depend on the weather. It could be a local hill, or it could be exploring the Glen Nevis valley or surrounding areas.

  • Winter Trip: This day will be used to practice walking on the snow and ice. you will be taught how to safely use crampons and ice axe, including the use of the ice axe if you start sliding

  • Evening: Check-in to the accommodation for a well-deserved rest and a group dinner at a local pub to share stories of the day’s events and for a briefing for the big day ahead.

Sunday:  Climb Ben Nevis and Depart

  • Breakfast: An early start to the day with a nutritious breakfast.

  • Begin the Ascent: Start the climb from sea level, taking the well-trodden Mountain Track.

  • Lunch on the Trail: Enjoy a packed lunch while taking in the stunning mountain scenery.

  • Reach the Summit: Celebrate your achievement as you reach the summit of Ben Nevis, with time to take photos and enjoy the panoramic views.

  • Descent: Begin the descent back to Glen Nevis, reflecting on the accomplishment.

  • Depart at 18:30: Say goodbye to your fellow adventurers, glowing after a full day on the highest mountain in The UK

  • If Caledonian Sleeper option is taken: You will board your train for the relaxing overnight journey back to London

 

Monday: (if Caledonian Sleeper Train option is taken)

Arrive in London at 8am, rested and rejuvenated for another week at work.

Whether it be summer or winter, our highly experienced and qualified guides will get you off the beaten track to the summit of Ben Nevis and safely back to the comfort of Fort William.

practical winter skills will be taught for those winter trips, so you don't need prior experience with crampons and ice axe
